Arctic Tern
Glides in figure-eights — once it flashes red, it dives straight for you.
Bramble Birds — Map 5/5
The last map hits you from every side.
The Walrus Glacier is the last stop before Hell difficulty: sideways blizzards shove you toward whichever wall they're blowing at, and icicles creak loose from the ceiling to drop straight down.
Arctic terns dive in once they flash red, seals pop out of holes in the ice to whip a snowball at you, penguins flop into a belly-slide the moment they crouch, and skuas scream in from across the screen.
Hazard: Sideways blizzards push you toward a wall, and icicles drop from the ceiling.
The 4 enemies you meet across this map's waves, in the order they first show up.
Glides in figure-eights — once it flashes red, it dives straight for you.
Pops up with a snowball balanced on its nose, tosses it up, then whips it at you with its tail.
Waddles across the ice — once it crouches, it belly-slides straight to where you are.
An air pirate — it screeches, takes aim, then dives clean across the screen.
This boss stays in shadow until you beat The Walrus Glacier for yourself — no spoilers here.
Opens by beating The Viper's Dunes.
Winning this map — with all five maps beaten on Hard — unlocks Hell difficulty everywhere.
Bird reward
Every map, including The Walrus Glacier, has the same 4 difficulty tiers.
| Difficulty | Rules |
|---|---|
| Easy | No extra rules. |
| Medium | Enemies get +25% health, the shop costs 25% more, and each wall gets one more spike. |
| Hard | On top of that: more enemies at once, one less heart to start, and bugs move 20% faster. |
| Hell | On top of that: the nest heals half as much, and the boss has +50% health and attacks more often. |
Hell is the final difficulty tier, unlocked once all five maps have been beaten on Hard. It stacks on every earlier rule: the nest heals half as much, and the boss has 50% more health and attacks more often.
Endless mode unlocks by beating a map in Story mode (the first map is open from the start). Once you down the boss, the waves never stop — every fifth one brings back a tougher boss.
